For these reasons, Sweden has now also banned the use of Huawei & ZTE equipment in 5G networks. New legislation that came into force in January required the regulator to consult the Swedish army and the security service to ensure that the use of radio equipment in these frequencies would not “harm” the country’s security. Why does the SA government not care about this possible liability in state security?
