Search for missing South African-British nationals deepens as traces of blood was found in car

Anti-terrorism cops and hostage negotiators are scrambling to piece together the last known movements of a missing Cape Town couple thought to have been abducted by acolytes of terror group Isis.

The couple left their last trace at a secluded bush lodge in the rolling hills of Zululand in northern KwaZulu-Natal. What befell them from the time their 4X4 made the arduous climb on a gravel road out of the valley is unknown.

Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town: VAT hike pays for corruption

The Bishops of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa are concerned that citizens are effectively paying for the impact of corruption through a hike in Value-Added Tax (VAT).

The bishops expressed their “deep concern” at the hike by one percentage point to 15% announced in Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s “tough but hopeful” budget speech.

Man Who Drowned 6-Month-Old Baby In Bucket Of Urine Gets Life

The Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, sentenced Mandla Chauke, 30, who drowned his girlfriend’s 6-month-old baby daughter in a bucket of urine, to life imprisonment.

Acting Judge Piet Pistorius, in sentencing Chauke, said the courts will not tolerate the abusers of women and children and a clear message had to be sent out that they will feel the full might of the law.  

He said our country has been plagued for too long by violence against women and children.

Kidnapped Children Found Dead

13-year-old Gabisile Shabani and the 15-month-old Nkosikhona Welcome Ngwenya were found. They have been murdered.

The siblings’ bodies were discovered on February 20.

A body was retrieved from the Zaalkap River on the N4 Highway

Gabisile’s body recovered at Cullinan in the bushes while Nkosikhona’s body was retrieved by police divers from the Zaalkap River on the N4 Highway.

Farm murder suspect killed in attempted farm attack

One of the four suspects in the Herman Botha murder case, Thomas Baloyi (25), was fatally shot during an attempted farm attack in Kalkfontein outside Groblersdal last Wednesday.

LIMPOPO – Baloyi and three other suspects, Tobias Moyo (44), Fanie Makwaka (25) and Chris Langa (31) were on 29 November 2017 each granted R1 000 bail by the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court after they were arrested in connection with the murder of 64-year-old Herman Botha at his Kameeldoring residence last year.

This woman was a domestic worker for a family domiciled in Roodepoort.

On Monday, 15 January 2018, she was let in to clean the house, as usual. When the family came home, they found that she had left the house as is and had stolen nearly R80 000 worth of their property…….. INCLUDING things of great sentimental value.

It is difficult to accept that someone can steal so much and just get away with it free, with no repercussions.
