Dit het aan die lig gekom dat die Durbanse burgemeester se “assistent” ‘n salaris van bykans R50 000 per maand verdien terwyl sy geen kwalifikasies het om as senior bestuurder aangestel te word nie.
Thabisile Ncayiyane is twee jaar gelede as huishoudelike werker aangestel maar het ‘n senior bestuurder se salaris verdien. Sy was na bewering die burgemeester, Zandile Gumede, se “assistent” wat na sy behoeftes moes omsien.
‘n Nuusgroep het in ‘n opvolg ondersoek bevind dat bykans 7 000 spookwerkers in diens is.
Xolani Vilani, die administratiewe bestuurder by indiensneming kon by ondersoek nie kontrakte van 71 werkers toon nie, en hulle lone wissel van R500 tot R2 000 per dag in plaas van die R130 wat die voorgeskrewe tarief is.
Die vraag word nou gevra in wie se sakke daardie geld werklik verdwyn.

Die binnelanders in Natal het die buitelandse winkeleienaars kennis gegee dat hulle teen Donderdag hulle winkels moet sluit of hul gaan aangeval word.
Die inwoners van Durban voel dat die uitlanders ‘n bedreiging inhou vir plaaslike besighede.
