The Department of Public Enterprises has confirmed that a new interim board has been appointed at Transnet.
In a statement issued on Monday night, Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan announced that he has removed all the remaining Transnet directors with immediate effect and that he’s appointed a new interim board, pending a full appointment, in consultation with Cabinet.

The FF Plus agrees with the assertion made by the director general of the Treasury, Mr Dondo Mogojane, that South Africa is not yet a failed state, but that it will soon end up being one if state capture is not brought to an end at once.
Economic growth is hampered even further by the unnecessary fragmenting of departments and it would only be to the country’s benefit if departments like trade and industry, small business development and even finance and energy were combined in order to promote cohesion.

Last Friday 4 May 2018, Ferdie van Greunen and his family arrived at their home in Lynnwoodrif. An unknown vehicle was parked in the driveway. Ferdie got out of his car and approached the unknown vehicle. At this point it became clear that the two people in the vehicle were burglars. One of them ran straight towards the vehicle in which Ferdie’s family was still sitting and attempted to drive away with it, thereby committing vehicle theft and abduction as well.

Nation building in South Africa is failing and the ANC government’s attempt to force people by means of legislation to reach out to one another, will not work. Nation building will only succeed if the diversity of our country’s communities and cultures is recognised and if their respective needs are addressed.
If one considers how South Africans act toward one another and treat one another on social media, it is clear that social cohesion and nation building are failing.

Four people aged between 32 and 64 were on Tuesday, 8 May 2018, arrested following acts of public violence at Seleteng Ga-Mphahlele next to Lebowakgomo.
The police were summoned to the scene where community members were protesting.On arrival, the road had already been barricaded by the chanting protesters who were also hostile towards police.

State official went on a luxurious spending spree with taxpayer’s money

A senior government official is being investigated for allegedly splashing thousands of rands of taxpayer’s money on a car for his girlfriend and furniture for her house during a two-year spending spree.
Between 2014 and 2016, July Maphosa, a director at the sustainable livelihoods programme of the Gauteng department of social development, which is meant to support needy families, also allegedly instructed a service provider to transfer funds to buy a luxurious car for a friend.
