ANC MP and former deputy minister of higher education, Mduduzi Manana is going to be charged with corruption, bribery and intimidation after a soundclip became public in which he promised to pay his domestic assistant R100 000 if she does not press charges of assault against him. He allegedly used violence towards her.
Manana was previously convicted of assault after beating up a young girl in a restaurant parking area a while ago. He is also notorious for shouting “Bury them alive” in reference to white farmers during a National Assembly debate on farm attacks.
The ANC, as usual, did nothing about any of this apart from replacing him as deputy minister. He still earns around R1 million per annum as MP.
It is a fact that there are two very common distinguishing characteristics with cowards. Extreme cruelty (e g To bury people alive) and violence towards those who are weaker than the coward, e g women, employees, old people, children and animals.
Manana is a coward with a big mouth and a bully on top of that. To keep him as a member of Parliament is an insult to the values of democracy and civilized conduct, as practised by some of us in this country still.
Get rid of him. The sooner the better.
