Illegal housing development, Tarlton land owners take a stand
More than 100 inflamed landowners and residents of Tarlton (Krugersdorp) on the West Rand gathered this morning, 19 June 2018, at the construction site of the Brickvale development to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the construction of more than 6000 homes.
The landowners were addressed by the FF Plus Leader for Gauteng, Jaco Mulder and the FF Plus Councilor in Mogale City, Amanda de Lange who gave the party a mandate to negotiate with the Gauteng government for the project to stopped.

Mangaung Metro Municipality – Free soccer tickets for the poor but no funds available for service delivery
Yesterday, 6 June 2018, during a media conference, the mayor of the Mangaung Metro Municipality (Bloemfontein, Dewetsdorp, Van Stadensrus, Wepener and Soutpan), Ms Olly Mlamleli, indicated that she is going to propose that the Metro must buy between 1000 and 2000 tickets for the Bloemfontein Celtic soccer match and then hand these tickets out to the poor.
The ANC government is only interested in short term politics and the proposed purchase and distribution of the soccer tickets can be seen as a desperate attempt by the ANC to hold onto political power.

Bucket toilets still reality for thousands – And the ANC-regime probably blame this on apartheid as well?
More than 60000 South African households still use the bucket toilet system – 12 years past the initial deadline set by the government to eradicate them.
This is according to Statistics SA’s Non-Financial Census of Municipalities 2017 report released this week.
The report lifted the lid on the shameful picture in some of the municipalities.

112 Municipalities won’t have enough money to cover their expenses
The majority of municipalities which won’t have enough money to cover their expenses are in Limpopo, followed by the Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
It’s emerged more than 40% of municipalities don’t have the money to carry out service delivery plans for the current financial year.

Port St Johns municipal workers end seven-month strike
Municipal workers returned to work in Port St Johns on Monday after an on-off strike which has lasted seven months, leaving the town strewn with garbage.
Municipal workers had been on an intermittent strike since last year, demanding the dismissal of the municipal manager and the implementation of wage promises they say were not kept. According to South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) spokesperson Andile Bara the problems started in 2013 when seven SAMWU shop stewards were fired after a strike over wages.
