New deputy president, finance minister announced in major Cabinet reshuffle
ANC deputy president David Mabuza will be the next deputy president of South Africa once he is sworn in as an MP. In a televised address to the nation on Monday evening, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced major changes to Cabinet, signalling a reversal of some of former president Jacob Zuma’s most controversial Cabinet appointments.
Ramaphosa also announced that Nhlanhla Nene would be appointed as new finance minister, once he had been sworn in as an MP. Zuma fired Nene in December 2015 and replaced him with Van Rooyen,

Stolen land returned? Only a few bushmen wouldn’t be homeless
One cannot help to wonder whether Ramaphosa, Malema and Mngxitama, in saying that land must be “returned to those it was stolen from”, actually means that it should go back to the Khoisan people?
That, in fact, would mean that everybody in SA, apart from a few Kalahari Bushmen, would be homeless.

Nkandla 2.0 – Ramaphosa Is Quietly Building A Sprawling Mansion On His R30 Million Plot In Cape Town
Nestled under Lion’s Head, the world’s most hiked mountain, President Cyril Ramaphosa is quietly building a massive private home on two plots of prime land that he bought for R30 million in 2010 — even though he now has an official residence in Cape Town.
It is nowhere near the size of former President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead, but it has one of the best views in Cape Town: a 180-degree panorama of the Atlantic Ocean, including Robben Island. On a clear day, Ramaphosa may just be able to see the very cell where Nelson Mandela was jailed for 18 years.

Only stagnant pools remain after the Zunami
Former president Jacob Zuma’s rambling monologue on the SABC on Wednesday afternoon wasn’t just an arrogant, delusional act of defiance in the face of the ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) instruction to step down as head of state.
It was his final act of working outside the structures of the governing party, and of the state, and of using the resources that his deployment to government had enabled him to pursue his own agenda, often to the detriment of both.
