ANC deputy president David Mabuza will be the next deputy president of South Africa once he is sworn in as an MP. Johannesburg – The DA has welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to withdraw the “futile appeal, launched by his predecessor, Jacob Zuma” in the appointment of a new National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP).
The DA’s federal council chairperson, James Selfe, said he hoped the decision signalled the end of Shaun Abrahams’ tenure as head of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

The state-of-the-nation address (Sona) delivered by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday night was a frank admission of the problems negatively impacting on the morale of South Africans and the drivers which are critical to take the nation forward, Agri SA said.

The ANC national executive committee (NEC) has not set an official deadline for President Jacob Zuma to respond to their decision to recall him, but the party expects him to reply on Wednesday.
“Tomorrow the president will respond,” Ace Magashule, the ANC’s secretary general, said on Tuesday.
Magashule was answering questions during a press briefing on the NEC outcomes after a 13-hour meeting yesterday where the ANC’s highest decision body decided to fire Zuma.
