A mother of two teens, Riana Louw du Toit, of Sutherland in the Northern Cape, was allegedly attacked on the R354 between Sutherland and Merweville on Wednesday morning and murdered in her car. The two children who are now totally orphaned as their father passed away some years ago.
Riana Louw du Toit, who worked at the restaurant on the farm Rogge Cloof, was found in her car around 08:00 on Wednesday morning.

The ANC national working committee (NWC) wants the Speaker of the National Assembly Baleka Mbete, to postpone Thursday’s state of the nation address (Sona) until President Jacob Zuma is kicked out of office.

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane has told the party’s KwaZulu-Natal provincial congress that it needs to go beyond “taking on the man from Nkandla” and turn itself into a stable government wherever it had taken power because of the easy target President Jacob Zuma had presented.
Maimane told the congress, held in Durban, that while the party had achieved what many would have thought impossible by taking the Cape Town, Nelson Mandela Bay, Tshwane and Johannesburg Metros, it had also made serious gains in KwaZulu-Natal in the 2016 local government elections. The DA now had branches all over the province and had increased its number of councillors from 150 councillors to 201, an increase of 11.88% of the vote in 2011 to 17.4% in 2016.

A good Samaritan was brutally attacked in another vicious assault on an elderly Kimberley resident.
The victim, 70-year-old Cynthia Chaplin, is in a stable condition in high care at the Mediclinic Gariep.
The assault is one of several criminal incidents in the Belgravia/Herlear area this week. It also comes shortly after the brutal attack on Piet Els and his partner, Magrietha ‘Rikkie’ Alsemgeest, on Els’ farm just outside Kimberley.

A fire was started in the administration building of Shondoni Secondary School in Vuwani outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo on Friday morning.
