One sentence in Julius Malema’s condescending response not only effectively wipes out all nations and tribes on the entire African continent, but also admits that the Land Grab in SA is just another Globalist move. He responded to a Khoisan (Indigenous Southern African) telling him he, as a bantu/negro settler, who all originate from Nigeria, has no rights to talk of land in Southern Africa.

South Africans were shocked in October when then finance minister Malusi Gigaba informed the nation in his mid-term Budget speech that a drastic decline in economic growth, coupled with “a sharp deterioration” in tax collections, had led to a tax revenue shortfall of R50.8billion – the largest under-collection since the 2009 recession.

Since then, Gigaba has announced a 1% VAT increase – the first in our democratic era – to try to address the shortfall, before Nhlanhla Nene replaced him as the person holding the purse strings.

Rustenburg – North West premier Supra Mahumapelo on Thursday welcomed the raids by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) at his office.

“In all my state of the province addresses since 2014, I have always emphasised the importance of all of us, as directed by our organisation, the ANC, to intensify at all fronts, the campaign against greed, crime and corruption. Abrahams was addressing parliament’s portfolio committees on justice and police in a combined sitting‚ along with Hawks head Lieutenant-General Yolisa Matakata.

Gigaba denies Ajay Gupta is on the run with SA passport

Parliament – Ajay Gupta, one of three Indian-born brothers at the centre of state capture allegations, is not on the run using a South African passport, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba said on Tuesday.

Briefing journalists after “putting the matter to rest” before Parliament’s portfolio committee on home affairs regarding the early naturalisation of members of the Gupta family, Gigaba said only Ajay Gupta’s wife, mother and two children were granted citizenship.

Johannesburg – The IEC has confirmed that Atul Gupta is, indeed, registered to vote at Saxonwold Primary School.

IEC deputy chairperson Terry Tselane said at a media briefing on Wednesday that the IEC was asked to check the registration details of an ID number, which proves that Atul is indeed a South African citizen.

Corruption Watch has called on Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to resign following a series of “appalling” reports coming from her office and her performance before the parliamentary portfolio committee on justice on Tuesday.

Mkhwebane came under criticism on Tuesday for her handling of the investigation into the Estina dairy farm project in Vrede. MPs asked why she did not interview the failed project’s beneficiaries and whether she could be trusted as the custodian of the Executive Members Ethics Act.

Cyril Ramaphosa was immediately hailed as a breath of fresh air after the decade-long Jacob Zuma debacle. The nation forgot, or ignored, his role in Marikana while his prowess as a businessman was lauded. A sensible, urbane politician who would save the economy.

His recent Cabinet reshuffle, however, reveals much of the same. The executive remains bloated and, with cronies retaining influence, his reputation for clean governance is shaken. The national conversation, however, has swung to expropriation without compensation.
