According to President Cyril Ramaphosa, it is clear that the country’s health care is in crisis and needs rehabilitation.

‘Horrifying Cruelty By The ANC – South Africans endure pain, suffering and neglect at Robert Sobukwe Hospital
‘Horrifying Cruelty By The ANC; Onlookers Shocked in Ward 31 This Morning’
South Africans endure pain, suffering and neglect at Robert Sobukwe Hospital, Kimberley last night and this morning. This photo shows the sick and injured who are forced to lie on cold floors. Many cry in anguish and discomfort, and embarrassment. Their frustration is evident, some wail in pain and frustration, others beg desperately for help from hospital workers, to no avail.
If you are sick or injured, don’t come to Robert Sobukwe Hospital, ANC Ward 31, unless you plan to leave you dignity at the door.
“Why has our government forgotten us?” cries a young teenage girl. She holds the hand of her grandmother who looks extremely weak. I looked into her grandmother’s eyes and saw no emotion, her tears have dried in salty streaks down her cheeks, disappearing under her wrinkled chin, the smell of urine comes from her chair. Her suffering is wrapped with a bow with kind regards from our

Nurses allegedly ‘ignored’ pleas for help as mom cradled dead infant after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses pay no attention to her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital
The Western Government Health Department will be investigating a young mother’s claims that she nearly bled to death after suffering a miscarriage, while nurses ignored her and ate their cereal at Groote Schuur Hospital.
The woman says she lay for seven hours in a heap of blood clots “the size of her fists”, while the dead baby lay between her legs.
Saadijah Samuels Abrahams, 28, of Bridgetown says nurses ignored her desperate cries for help and, afterwards, a cleaner dumped the foetus in a bin.
“I wrapped the baby inside tissue paper and left it at my bedside and when I came back, the nurse said she didn’t know what happened,” she says.
“When my husband was finally allowed inside the ward, he put on gloves and found the baby inside the bin. Can you imagine that? To find your baby inside a bin?”
Saadijah was 14 weeks pregnant with her second child and says she was excited to be giving birth in July.
However, on 13 January she started b

Public hospitals in South Africa have become a death-trap for the poor
Refiloe Nt’sekhe of the Democratic Alliance says that public hospitals have become a death-trap for the poor‚ says
The party has produced this checklist of the top eight problems that it says require urgent intervention‚ following inspection visits to hospitals and clinics over the past month by DA provincial health spokespersons Jack Bloom MPL (Gauteng)‚ Dr Imran Keeka MPL (KwaZulu-Natal)‚ Dr Tutu Faleni MPL (North West) and Langa Bodlani MPL (Limpopo).
Here is a summary of their report:
1. Chronic staff shortages and long waiting times
All the facilities lacked staff in critical positions.
At the Bongani Hospital in the Free State‚ they found that the facility only had one nephrology Sister to attend to patients suffering from kidney diseases. This was despite health norms and standards indicating that hospitals should have nine.
While inspecting the Paediatric Ward in Taung District Hospital in North West‚ the DA fo

Disabled persons left to fend for themselves due to strike at San Michele’s home for psychiatric and disabled patients
The management of San Michele’s home for psychiatric and disabled patients in Brakpan on the East Rand are in panic after most of the staff members of the home have started a protected strike action. More than 200 patients are left unattended during.
Marius Bosman, administrator of San Michele, explained on Saturday that about 90 staff members, including caregivers, cooks and cleaners, have down tools due to wages and bonuses dispute since Friday morning.
“Where we usually have a staff corps of about 85 people throughout the day and 15 crews of staff, we currently have only one matron and five volunteers to look after our 203 patients,” Bosman said.
“We are currently experiencing a crisis and should, with the help of the few volunteers, ensure that patients are fed, fed, bathed and taken care of.”

Staatshospitaal in Koster, Noordwes in wanorde; skoonmaker voer pasiënte

Pasiënt kla oor haglike toestande by F.H. Odendaal-hospitaal in Modimolle

Five babies die in Gauteng hospital due to klebsiella ‚ hospital CEO suspended
Five babies have now died from antibiotic-resistant Klebsiella at the Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in Vosloorus as the hospital shuts down wards and struggles to find the source of this bacteria.
DA Gauteng shadow health MEC Jack Bloom said he discovered this when he visited the hospital last week to check up on sources who had told him that more babies had died after it was revealed two weeks ago that two out of seven babies infected with Klebsiella had died.
“I was informed that Klebsiella infection has been confirmed in 11 babies‚ five of whom have died.
“The first baby died on July 9‚ another in early August‚ two babies died on August 25 and another baby on August 28. They were all vulnerable low-weight premature infants‚” Bloom said on Sunday.
Bloom said the remaining infected babies had been isolated to prevent further infection‚ and the neonatal and labour wards had been thoroughly scrubbed down.
Bloom also welcomed the decision by th

Gauteng hospital shock – More than 20‚000 patients harmed due to negligence
Gauteng Health MEC Gwen Ramokgopa has confirmed that more than 20‚000 patients have been harmed due to negligence in the space of two-and-a-half years at state hospitals in Gauteng.
Ramokgopa quoted the figure in a written response to questions posed in the Gauteng Legislature by Democratic Alliance MPL Jack Bloom.
When patients are harmed unintentionally‚ by an act of commission or omission rather than their underlying illness or condition‚ the incidents are recorded as “Serious Adverse Events”. There have been 20‚417 of these incidents in the province since 2016‚ to date.
“Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital is the most dangerous hospital for patients in Gauteng‚ with 4‚320 recorded (incidents)‚” Bloom said in a statement on Monday.
Ramokgopa confirmed that the cases were‚ broadly speaking‚ related to “allegations of negligence‚ incompetence of staff members‚ human errors‚ secondment of patients and system failure”.
