The South African Communist Party (SACP) said on Monday it welcomed the policy of expropriation of land without compensation as another means of achieving land reform.

“While we do not believe that the existing constitutional requirement of paying just and equitable not market compensation has remotely been an impediment to serious land reform, in fact, the constitutional right to expropriate in the public interest has never been used for land restitution,” the party’s general secretary, Dr Blade Nzimande, said during a press briefing.
He said the country’s constitution made provisions for the state to determine the amount to be paid as compensation for expropriated land, which is hardly used by the government.

Opposition parties are discussing a joint plan to push the ANC into recalling President Jacob Zuma- including a call for their supporters to take to the streets.
The UDM’s Bantu Holomisa flighted the possibility‚ saying: “#RemoveZumaMarch. South Africans‚ let’s discuss the possibility of taking to the streets on 22 February 2018‚ the day of Zuma’s vote of no confidence in Parliament. We can’t rely on a divided ANC.”
“We must never forget that it has never been the ANC’s plan to remove Zuma‚ hence they are pussyfooting‚” said Holomisa. “In fact we should scrap the state of the nation address (Sona) altogether to avoid a double wastage. Let’s rather focus on the budget and the no confidence debate on Zuma.”

SAKP claims Zuma wants to sack Ramaphosa to replace him with his ex

The SA Communist Party (SACP) issued a statement stating that Jacob Zuma intends to fire Cyril Ramaphosa as the country’s deputy president and replace him with his ex Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
The SAKP further claims that Zuma wants to use a Zulu regiment (Anabutho) to protect him in his post as president.
