Ncobo killings victim speaks out
A police officer who survived this week’s attack on the Ngcobo Police Station in the Eastern Cape has described how he had to crawl on the ground to escape a volley of rifle fire that met him when he arrived to help his slain colleagues.
When the officer and a colleague, who were called as back-up from a nearby police station, arrived at 23:00 on Tuesday, the station was a “war zone” as between 15 and 20 armed attackers opened fire on them with automatic rifles.

Listeriosis outbreak: Hunt for a killer bug
It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
The medical scientists at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) have been trying to find the source of the listeriosis outbreak, but the haystack seems to grow larger by the day.
With over 900 cases confirmed through laboratory tests, the food-borne disease has so far claimed 172 lives across the country.

Fuel tankers used for drugs, ivory, arms smuggling operations across Zim and SA
Modified tanker trucks are at the center of a new wave of drug smuggling into and through South Africa as well as movement of illegal arms and ivory from and out of Zimbabwe, a Khuluma Afrika investigation has established.
This was discovered after a fuel tanker truck was hijacked just after the South Africa – Mozambique border post. The hijackers reportedly took the truck to a secluded farm believed to be their ‘extraction’ point only to find out the vehicle barely had fuel, and the tank had been modified.
