Trump announced in his UN speech that the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, was instructed to investigate whether countries receiving financial assistance also have the interests of the United States on their heart
South Africa was listed earlier this year as one of the top 10 countries that show anti-US sentiment when it comes to voting around US resolutions at the UN.
This warning comes at a time when relations between the US and SA are tight to Trump’s tweet that ground theft and farm murders must be investigated.
The relationship between SA and US can become even more troublesome with the recent dealings with the Chinese.
