Human rights lawyer Richard Spoor is currently facing assault charges.
The charge sheet reads against him: “The accused has wrongly and intentionally assaulted General Major Black by pointing to him with his finger.”
Although it is asked if one can not use finger language more, the mere threat of being assaulted, t is assault. However, the requirement is that the complainant (General Black) really felt threatened because the suspect would indeed be able to execute his threat.
