At least two councillors from the SABC have resigned. The Board has given notice to the presidency that three councillors resigned and all inquiries are referred to the presidency.
This follows after alleged retrenchments by the Council and in combat with the newly appointed Minister of Communications, Stella Ndabeni Abrahams. There was a situation and Abrahams suspended negotiations with the council.
The SABC needs R3 billion before March 2019 to pay salaries and debt.
The national broadcaster is one of the many government institutions that are under poor management and currently function in bankruptcy.
