Cyril Ramaphosa appointed adv. Shamila Batohi as the new head of the National Prosecuting Authority.
She will begin her duties on February 1, 2019. The president of the country, Cyril Ramaphosa, acknowledged that the NPA was disorder, corrupt and dysfunctional with the announcement of her appointment.
Observers point out that this acknowledgment made by Ramaphosa is a disgrace. Ramaphose was second in command of the country when this decay occurred in the department and he did nothing to stop it. Voters regard this as a shame.
The newly appointed head of the NPA may invest in public confidence, but the head of state and government of the country do not deserve confidence from the people of South-Africa.
