For the first time, Transnet has initiated legal proceedings against former chief executive Brian Molefe.
In the summons issued against Molefe, Anoj Singh and Regiments Capital, the amount of more than R79 million, plus interest thereon, is claimed.
Apparently, the amount of a double payment has been made and claimed back, which is now being disputed.
Molefe said in his response to the case that it was a no-nuisance, and this will not trouble him at all.
An unknown source from Transnet said the government was serious about pushing the issue to its fullest in order to recover its payment.
