The case was postponed to allow time for one of the accused to find a new lawyer. The trial of two men accused of the murder of their friend has been postponed over legal representation.
Richard Wood (26) died in November last year after being severely assaulted outside a pub in Pretoria North.
His friends Christopher van der Westhuizen and Marchant Bredell were back in the Pretoria North regional court on Tuesday as the trial was expected to start.
However, Van der Westhuizen’s lawyer Marchant Kilian announced that he was withdrawing from the case as his client was unable to afford his legal fees.

Van der Westhuizen told magistrate Pieter Nel that he would seek another lawyer.
Nel questioned Van der Westhuizen on whether he would be able to afford that lawyer since could not afford his current representative.
“I made a plan and will speak to the lawyer today,” he said.
Wood’s mother Maryna was also present in court.
She said she had received a summons to testify and was “bitterly disappointed” that the case had been postponed.
“It’s been really hard on me,” the emotional woman told Rekord.
