Johannesburg’s mayor, Herman Mashaba, apparently made his first civil arrest in favour of the Gold City’s reputation.
He stopped a man who was walking down the road with a shopping cart filled with his precious cargo, chopped off cattle heads in it.
A metro police department spokesperson, David Tembe, confirmed that the man had been arrested later, as the cattle heads were a health risk.
The accompanying photo that ended up on social networks was a festival for those who would like to comment on such strange behaviour.
There are also those who blamed the mayor and the police for the arrest of the man since it is seen as an obstacle to entrepreneurship.
