Zuma not invited to celebrate SA Communist Party’s 96TH anniversary – It comes as no Surprise!

The South African Communist Party (SACP) is hosting celebrations to mark its 96th anniversary in Galeshewe in the Northern Cape on Sunday morning.

General Secretary Blade Nzimande will be the key note speaker at the event.

The party says the rally will also be addressed by representatives from alliance partners and the Young Communist League.

It says President Jacob Zuma is not allowed to attend the event as it has taken a resolution to bar him from attending any of its events.

The SACP’s Hlengiwe Nkonyane says: “We wrote a formal letter to the ANC, advising that they not deploy the president to our congress or any other event until we’ve met with the alliance to speak about our won pronouncement for the president to step down.”

In May, Zuma was booed at the Congress of South African Trade Union’s May Day rally in Bloemfontein.
