“I did a bad thing,” Maher said to professor Dyson. “For black folks, that word, I don’t care who you are, has caused pain. I’m not here to do that.”
The big question is: Why hasn’t Maher been fired? And do I have to say “what if it was a Republican or conservative” who said it? C’mon – we’re past that aren’t we? But Michael Eric Dyson wants waaaaaaay more than an apology – WATCH:
So here’s a question for you. Although the idea of slavery believe me is abhorrent to 99.9999% of all white people in America, some of our ancestors hundreds of years ago owned slaves. And guess what – some of our ancestors fought for AND DIED in the cause to end slavery.
They were called abolitionists. My ancestors were proud abolitionists. I don’t personally expect any thanks because I myself had nothing to do with it and I didn’t pick my parents my ancestors or their skin color. However..
Before we rip Maher apart, let’s consider the source:
The aforementioned Georgetown University professor and author Michael Eric Dyson thinks white people – based solely on their skin color – should keep an “individual reparations account” to make donations to black groups and atone for America’s history of slavery and racism.
YOU HEARD RIGHT. He’s a college professor, yet he doesn’t seem to know or care that 100’s of thousands of white people died fighting to free the slaves. I wonder if he know that the First Draft of the Constitution outlawed slavery – but was vetoed by his beloved Democrat white Southeners?
Listen to this guy. His diction alone should disqualify him from the classroom.
DML reports – “Look, if it doesn’t cost you anything, you’re not really engaging in change; you’re engaging in convenience,” Dyson said. “You’re engaged in the overflow. I’m asking you to do stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily do. I’m asking you to think more seriously and strategically about why you possess what you possess.“That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account,” he continued.
“You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, ‘woke’ citizen can do.”When asked if he would consider the Koch Brothers ‘woke’ for giving $25 million to the United Negro College Fund, Dyson responded by saying “No. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that charity is a poor substitute for justice.
But I ain’t turning $25 million down.”Since Dyson’s book is a “Sermon to White America” Cox asked Dyson, “Which part of white America do you envision reading it?”Dyson said he envisions the audience to be “that ocean of white folk I encounter who are deeply empathetic to the struggles of minorities.”
No wonder college kids can’t get jobs – they’re being taught just to piss and moan and people will give them money.
But back to Bill Maher for a moment, who still has a job. I guess he didn’t refuse to bake a cake for someone or he’d REALLY be in trouble: Ice Cube, who was also on the apology show, added: “. . . It’s not cool because when I hear my homie say it, it don’t feel like venom. When I hear a white person say it, it feel like that knife stabbing you even if they don’t mean to.”
By the way, the evil Koch Brothers gave $25 million to the United Negro College Fund. Ever hear about that on the news? No? How about at this cat’s church or classroom?
But here’s what you have heard from this conman:
“What I’ve seen under the wonderful presidency of Barack Obama is the tendency to not tell white people the truth, for obvious reasons — they don’t vote for you,” he said. “But I’m not a politician. I don’t have that power or influence, but what I do wield is a different kind of bully pulpit. We have to have enough belief in white people to tell them the truth. They are grown!”
You know what I think whenever someone starts a discussion with something about how great Barack Obama’s presidency was? I think; “How fast can I get away from this insane asylum escapee?”
I’ve heard enough from all of them…
