Afrikaans-speaking parents in Eastern Cape threaten to close school

On Monday, about 80 disgruntled parents, learners and community members attempted to close Sandisulwazi Secondary School in Paterson, Eastern Cape. The protesters are demanding a teacher to teach Afrikaans as a subject.

Sandisulwazi has nine teachers, eight of whom are Xhosa-speaking and one English-speaking. There are 303 learners at the school, 65 of whom are Afrikaans-speaking.

Elderly man violently assaulted in farm attack

An elderly couple was attacked in their home on the farm in the Reitz area in the Free State on Sunday morning 11 February 2018.

Marius Müller, National Operations Co-ordinator of AfriForum, told Maroela Media on Sunday that a preliminary investigation indicates that three armed robbers attacked the couple at about 05:00.

After consumers had boycotted the Spur restaurant group, which resulted in several branches closing their doors after their racist behaviour, the same consumers threatened with two more boycotts.

Readers of the Afrikaans Family Magazine, Huisgenoot, are highly shocked at the magazine’s extremely positive report about the soon to be third child of white and Afrikaner hater Julius Malema . Malema is notorious for singing songs such as “Shoot the Farmer” and the like, and readers believe he deserves no place in an Afrikaans magazine, especially because it is so positively presented.

The coffin case duo, Willem Oosthuyzen and Theo Jackson, have received the outcome of their petition for leave to appeal from Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein.

It was just learned that the petition has been successful, meaning that the case will be brought before the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein. A date has not been set.
