The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General De Lange has expressed her shock about the ruthless murder of two elderly women (mother and daughter) aged 70 and 91, at a house in Webber Road, Lambton on 12 July 2017.
The bodies were discovered at about 14:00 by another daughter of the victim. It is suspected that the victims were assaulted several times with a blunt object.
At this stage it is suspected that they were followed into the premises as the house has been found to have been ransacked. It has not yet been established what exactly was stolen.
The suspects are unknown. Police are still looking for clues at the crime scene that may help in the identification of suspects.
“Crimes against children, women and the elderly are a priority and police will make sure that those who are responsible are brought to book”, says the Provincial Commissioner.
